This is a really high quality decoder. It supports the LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs as listed by the Bluetooth Scanner app, see Fig. 1. (The app refers to the decoder as headphone.) Of the three supported codecs LDAC offers the highest quality, followed by AAC. You are advised to avoid the SBC codec (generally used by cheaper decoders) as it offers only a modest quality.
In contrast, with the proper settings (44.1kHz, 16bits, stereo, 990/909kbps) LDAC offers _lossless_ CD quality transmission. You can find these settings in the Developer Options submenu of your phone's Settings/System menu.
This adapter needs a high quality power supply, preferably a linear voltage stabilizer or a very well filtered switching power supply (an electrolytic capacitor of a few hundred microfarads and a ceramic capacitor of about 100nF in parallel to eliminate high frequency noise). A few seconds after you pause or stop playback the audio output is disconnected and you will hear a 50/60Hz hum if the power supply is not properly filtered as is the case with most phone chargers. I use the charger of a ca. 15 years old cell phone, more recent chargers cause the above mentioned hum. Note however that the hum is not present during playback because then the output is connected to the decoder's circuitry.
